Two British tourists were attacked and robbed in Cape Town on Tuesday, paramedics said.
ER24 spokesman Tristan Wadeley said the couple, aged 65 and 69, on holiday from England, were mugged on the scenic Victoria Road around 3pm.
"They were mugged while walking. A man ran up from behind and grabbed the woman's handbag, the old woman and man fell while trying to fight off the robber," said Wadeley.
The couple were taken to Cape Town Medi-Clinic with knee injuries.
