Cape Party deputy leader, Adrian Kay, called on coloured voters to use the 2009 election to make their voices heard. In a statement released to the media, Kay warned coloureds in the Cape not to repeat the mistake of not voting.
Â
"Coloureds have been forgotten by the ANC, and the only way to stop that is to vote", said Kay. The Cape Party has set its sights on achieving independence for the Western Cape. Kay said that the coloured people had no political home and that it was time that the Cape seceded.
"There will never be justice for the coloured man in South Africa, the only way to achieve it is to move on, we dont need the north!", Kay went on to slam COPE Western Cape leader Allan Boesak, "Boesak was sent to jail, we dont need criminals leading us".
