An 18-year old woman was gang-raped twice in Butterworth, Eastern Cape police said on Sunday.
She had gone to a tavern with a friend on Saturday night, said Captain Jackson Manatha in a statement.
After losing track of her friend, the 18-year-old left the Zitulele township tavern around 10pm.
"She met a group of about six men near the bushy area not far from Holyburn Flats. The suspects drew firearms and knives and gang-raped her.
"Just when she thought she was going home, again came a gang of nine men who all also raped her."
The 18-year old was in grade 10 at a local school.
No arrests had been made.
