A teenage girl has been arrested in connection with the murder of well-known Jeffreys Bay woman Cecile Potgieter, Eastern Cape police said on Monday.
The teenager, who was arrested on Sunday night, was the second person taken into custody for the crime, said Superintendent Priscilla Naidu.
Potgieter was found dead on the lounge floor of her home on Thursday morning. There was gash in her head.
At the time, police believed she was attacked outside while responding to an intercom call and was dragged into the house. They thought she might have known her attacker.
A 26-year-old man found hiding in the ceiling of the house was arrested on Friday night, said Naidu. Police found him while examining blood stains on the passage walls.
They found a laptop, camera, cellphone and jewellery in the ceiling with him.
He was the son of Potgieter's domestic worker and occasionally did gardening for her.
The 16-year-old woman arrested on Sunday was believed to be his girlfriend and was thought to have been with him at the time of the attack, said Naidu.
