Residents from the white Afrikaner enclave, Orania, in the Northern Cape, expected to have a relaxed day on Wednesday.
Orania resident Eleanor Lombaard said she had not yet voted but planned to go at around 11am.
Orania has 422 registered voters and one voting station.
Lombaard said a high voter turnout was expected.
Resident Frans de Klerk said he thought he would spend the day "rustig" (relaxed).
"We might have a braai and some festivities," he said, adding that he would definitely vote.
