Youth unemployment in South Africa could lead to North African-style revolt, Cosatu general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi said on Tuesday.
“It's youth unemployment... the marginalisation of the youth is exactly the same, if not worse, in South Africa than in Tunisia,” he told reporters at Gallagher Estate in Midrand.
He was speaking after delivering his secretariat report, which he said took a record-breaking three hours. Vavi said comparisons could be gleaned from other countries with the problems facing South Africa.
