Two boys were arrested for robbing two men at gun point at Villieria, Pretoria police said on Saturday.Eight boys, including the two arrested aged 16 and 18, took cell phones and cash from two men walking on the street of East-Lynne on Friday, said spokesman Koos Van der Kooi.
"After the robbery all of the boys ran into a direction of a school yard and the men informed us about the robbery. We arrested them minutes later."
Van der Kooi said the pair was pointed out by the complainants on the school premises, in front of hundreds of pupils who were attending a school function.
However, he could not confirm if the boys were students at that school.
During the arrest, police managed to confiscate one unlicensed firearm.
Police were still looking for the other six gang members, said Van der Kooi.
The two youths would appear in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on Monday, facing charges of armed robbery and possession of unlicensed firearm.
