"Collective punishment" which saw children and civilians killed would not solve the problems in the mideast, said the ANC on Sunday in condemning Israel's air raids in Gaza.
The party called on the international community to implement a two-state solution which would not take land from the Palestinians and would see both Israel and Palestine co-exist as independent states, read a statement.
"A negotiated settlement can only succeed if the acts of occupation and diminishing of Palestinian land ceases."Â Saturday's air strikes, in retaliation for rocket fire, killed more than 280 Palestinians.
